Mequon will have their 1st meeting on Wednesday, October 30th!

Join Chris at our NEW meeting location as he gets into the weeds of how he bought, stabilized, managed and grew his first self-storage facility.

In this meeting, you will learn:

  • How he found it (68-units with 2.5 acres extra)
  • Analyzing the numbers (original underwriting)
  • Financing sources (private lender & bank à equity partner)
  • Property management (old school to virtual)
  • New construction of 108-Units (vision, plans, permitting, construction and being the GC)
  • Why the right team and systems are CRITICAL

This meeting is perfect for anyone who wants to get a peek behind the curtain and is interested in self-storage as a strategy. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced investor, you'll walk away with nuggets and insights that will help you take the next step.

Speaker: Chris Hake

Chris is the visionary and investor coach of the Master Investor Academy and Madison Real Estate Investors Association (REIA). Chris has decades of real estate investing experience and has seen (and smelled) more distressed properties than he cares to admit. He now applies that knowledge in the mentoring and education of his Coaching students that are actively engaged in rehabbing, wholesaling, and holding of properties all over South Central Wisconsin.

Chris has been a Madisonian for over 45 years and investing in the Madison real estate market for over 26 years. Since doing his first house hack in 1994, he has been involved with 100’s of house flips, 100’s of rentals, raised over 10 million dollars to fund those deals and had 1000’s of students come through his local training and coaching programs. Chris has a PhD & Master’s Degree in the school of hard knocks

Between 2006-2010 Chris taught the Real Estate Investing course at Madison Area Technical College, which saw 100’s of students come through his classes.

Between speaking engagements and mentoring other investors, Chris oversees the daily operations of his investing business, Madison Property Group, that rehabs, wholesales and wholetails properties, and holds properties for his investment portfolio.

In July 2012, Chris founded The Madison REIA and in July 2021 merged his REIA with WiscoREIA bringing the combined membership to over 650 with 8 locations!

WiscoREIA’s Mequon Meeting Will Meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the Month beginning November from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm!

Hosts: Kyle Kaufman & Joel Pipkorn

Kyle Kaufman is a business owner, attorney, real estate investor, and host of the Meaningful Ideas Trading Club.  Kyle was born and raised in Wisconsin.  He grew up wanting to help people.  He has discovered his life’s purpose to help families in Wisconsin and to provide individuals with commercial space for their business, and residences for people to live.

In 2005 Kyle started practicing law.  He handled almost all aspects of the law.  Early in his career he took on landlord and tenant matters, and civil disputes involving real estate.  He started to advise people starting their real estate portfolios, and drafted documents for investors to use in their businesses and with tenants and property managers.

In 2010 Kyle became a one-third owner of the law firm, now known as HKK Law Offices Family Law (www.hkklawoffices.com).  Kyle’s practice shifted to family law sometime around 2018, as more and more people called seeking his assistance.  Kyle became fascinated with all the financial information he discovered while representing individuals in divorce matters and financial disputes between former significant others.  He started to study more thoroughly on the issues of real estate, business, taxes, and more.

Today, Kyle’s law practice focuses entirely on family law, including divorce, maintenance, child support, paternity, property division, child custody, adoption, termination of parental rights, guardianship and more.  In the legal world, he sees his contributions in this area to have the most transformational impact on the community.

Kyle now owns one-half of the law firm business and leads a team of 15 people.

Real estate has always been an interest, and after advising clients for many years, Kyle and his wife, Sunny, decided to join in on the fun.  Since the year 2000, Kyle and Sunny, have acquired and now own a building with 18 residential units and two commercial units, a 44,000 square foot warehouse, 3 parking lots, and they co-own two additional commercial units.  They are generating passive income from their investments and using the power of delegation to make it all work.

In 2021 Kyle created an online weekly meetup event called the Meaningful Ideas Trading Club.  Kyle hosts the program and invites others to share and mastermind on ideas related to personal and business development.

Outside of business, Kyle and Sunny have 6 children, and they enjoy spending their time with their family.

Joel Pipkorn is a licensed real estate agent and investor in Wisconsin, a serial entrepreneur nationwide, and a low-key rock star in the Milwaukee music scene. Born and raised in rural Ozaukee County, Joel was instilled with a strong work ethic early on. Working in the farm community from a young age gave Joel a special appreciation for land and the financial opportunities owning real estate provides. Over the years, Joel has developed a passion for improving distressed property, city development, and providing quality housing.

While attending college at UW Oshkosh, Joel started his first business as a direct sales representative for Vector Marketing. Joel worked his way up to the position of District Manager, opened his own office, hired staff, and recruited and trained a sales force of over 30 representatives. During this time, Joel purchased his first rental property in 2007 and entered the real estate investment arena as a new landlord.

After graduating from college, Joel spent some time as a general contractor, and in 2012 began to build a wholesale food distribution company, Rojos Popcorn. Joel merged his company with two other Midwest businesses and grew to include several distribution locations, a fleet of vehicles, a delivery territory from Green Bay to Chicago, and a national chain of distribution.

As a result of the covid-19 pandemic, Joel experienced a major decline in the food service business. He took this tragedy as an opportunity to obtain his Wisconsin Real Estate License and become a Realtor under the Kramer Real Estate Group in Sheboygan. Since then, Joel doubled his real estate portfolio to over 60 units and continues to grow his portfolio while managing fix and flips and assisting buyers and sellers as a Realtor. Joel’s latest project is a new development of 20 town home condos in Sheboygan.

Joel is also the proud owner and founding member of Detour, a Milwaukee based cover band and entertainment company. Joel coordinates DJ and emcee services and can be found playing lead guitar with Detour at summer festivals, weddings, and corporate events.

In his spare time, Joel likes to stay active outdoors with his two kids. Camping, boating, skiing, and traveling are a few things they enjoy doing together. Joel also keeps his kids involved with the host of businesses he owns in an effort to be an example of finding financial freedom while following life’s passions.
